As they say, better late than never, Amazon Prime has been finally equipped with viewer profiles. This is a simple feature, the absence of which has been annoying users since the OTT platform was launched a few years ago. Finally, up to six members can create their profiles on one Amazon account as per the new update. You can create your watchlists, have your watch progress (the major upgrade) and also get personalized content suggestions by Amazon as per your watching habits.

A handful of regions across the world received the update back in March. Amazon plans to launch it all over the world in the next couple of days so that customers everywhere can enjoy this subtle but significant change. Manage these profiles through all the Prime Video platforms, such as Android, iOS, Fire TV, PlayStation 4, and obviously, your browser.
How to create a profile?
The task is incredibly simplified. Just head on over to Prime Video’s official site. You will find your account’s name on the top right corner. Select it, and it’ll open a dropdown menu. Click on Add New option. Enter name hit Save Changes. You can also create a profile, especially for kids with restricted content.
If you’re using a smartphone, on the far-right bottom, there’s a My Stuff section. Click on your name at the top and Create Profile. You can add a new profile or manage the old ones.
This was a long-awaited feature
For a giant company such as Amazon, you’d think a small feature like Viewer Profiles would be easy to gain from competitors. But it took them years to get Profiles onto their platform which others like Netflix have had for so long! And even now, they haven’t given pins or Profile pictures to complete the aesthetic. Disappointing, to say the least.
And since the start of the pandemic, this issue realized itself and annoyed users even more. So it was only fair that right around now, Amazon would wake up from its deep sleep of customer satisfaction and add such a simple concept. In other more Amazon-friendly news, the company has launched a new feature that will enable users to watch Prime content with your friends in the United States. Users were creating this feature with the use of third-party apps before. And also, Prime Video has an app for Windows PCs, enabling you to download content offline to watch later.
